I have never played a violin before but this tune and couple of others have really inspired me to learn how to play it.

I want to know how much does a decent violin cost and where do I go to learn how to play like that.

Thanks in advance.

You can probably get a good quality one for about $100-$500. Prices can really vary depending on who made it, age, electric… You’ll have to do some research to make sure what’s best for you.

If you’re not sure, I recommend that you rent one. You can find a music store that rents violins and try a few out to see which you like best. Some stores will let you buy the rental if you want to keep it.

The music store may also have information on instructors who will teach you how to play. Or you can try looking online or your local yellow pages. Hope this helps! Good luck and have fun!

Those are really beautiful tunes, but from Indian classical music, I suspect; the tunes are not from the European classical repertoire.

But always, with the violin, you must find a good private teacher who plays the sort of music you wish to play.

The violins these gentlemen are playing are not so-called "student violins," but I would guess in the $1,000 range and likely more. Examples of such instruments may be found here:

You should consult with your teacher about finding a violin, and also perhaps be satisfied with a lesser instrument until you determine that you are going to stick with your studies. You can be sure the two musicians on the YouTube videos have studied for many years — at least five and probably more like 10.

      Good luck!

You could go to sharmusic.com and look in their student/beginner violin category….when you find some you like, call them and they will suggest the one that they think is right for you.

A decent violin costs probably around 200-500 dollars for a begginer and around 1000 and up for more advanced players.

If you dont want to spend that much you could rent one but buying a violin is way better. This is a site a used to buy a daughter for my daughter.http://www.sharmusic.com/ they have exellent violins and they are in great condition and its a great price expecially those back to school sales that are going on.

To play like that i suggest you go to your local music store and they probably have instructors that could teach you to play the violin. Pretty soon you’ll could get better and better and play probably even better than the person in the video.

      Hope this helps..=]
